Pastor Robert Jenkins is originally from South Carolina. His family moved to Lansing, Michigan when he was seven years old. He received the Lord in 1963 at the age of 13 and has never looked back.

He started ministering the Gospel, soon after he was saved, to anyone whom he came into contact. He joined St. Matthew A.M.E. Church and ministered the word whenever the opportunity was presented.

Pastor Jenkins is a bold soldier for the Lord and stands up for “Thus saith the Lord.” He has brought thousands of people to the Lord and will not quit until the Lord comes back or he goes home to be with the Lord. At the age of 27, Pastor Jenkins became the founder of Victory in Jesus Prison and Outreach Ministries which has continued for 39 years. In addition, in 1977 Pastor Jenkins founded, lead. and
directed a gospel choir comprised of about 15-20 people; five (5) were family members. The group was eventually called “The Jenkins Singers.” The choir grew to about 75 people strong. They traveled the state of Michigan and as the word spread about the anointing that was on them, other churches in the city requested their appearance. The choir also had the privilege of traveling to other states. One thing all the choir members said was before they could sing any songs, Pastor Bob would minister the word. His main
focus was always on the Lord and their salvation.

Pastor Jenkins and his mother, who is now in heaven, also started a prayer group in 1979 at the Jenkins family home. Several hundred people came through the Jenkins doors throughout five-plus years to hear and to receive the uncompromised Word of the gospel.

Pastor Jenkins also had a TV program for a few years where he taught the Word. When some Michigan State University students heard about the TV ministry, they invited him to teach a Bible study at Bessie Hall, across from the main auditorium. The reception was overwhelming. Word of his ministry was disseminated throughout the campus and hundreds of students were saved and are still serving the Lord today.

Pastor Jenkins graduated in 1981 from Rhema Bible School and was ordained under Kenneth E. Hagin. He was later ordained by Pastor Howard Davenport at Lansing Christian Center Church where he was the Assistant Pastor. Pastor Jenkins has traveled aboard to Africa and has been to Guatemala more than 10 times for medical campaigns. His trips aboard have transformed his life and have given him a sense of why we are to serve, thereby, revealing his calling.

In 2010 he met the Love of his life, Beverly Jenkins, in Denver, Colorado and one year later, he proposed. They were married on July 14, 2012 in Lansing, Michigan.

The passion of Victory in Jesus Ministries is to assist the lost as well as to be a support to prisoners within the correctional system throughout the state of Michigan. Pastor Jenkins and his wife, Beverly, feel that the assignment that God has given them will continue to make a difference in people’s lives as well as the community’s.

Pastor Jenkins and his wife have a true love for people who are lost and desire to help them grow in their walk with the Lord. They believe by showing love and sharing the Word of God people will be drawn to the truth and they will make a Godly choice to surrender.
